I bought these to replace a 10 year old set of Sabatier from bb& beyond. The primary thing I was looking for was non serrated steak knives. These knives are sharp right from the box. I took a piece of printing paper and held it by the edge and used a steak knife to slice it. The knife sliced cleanly through like a razor blade. The rest of the set feel sturdy and with the German steel I feel that this will be a great set. The fact that they tell you the sharpening bevel is also great so there is no guessing when it's time to true up the blades. I feel these knives are a great value for household kitchens.. Anonymous. I am impressed with the look and feel of this 2 piece carving set. They are well constructed, feel heavy, but not too heavy to cut all meats from turkey to Rib-eye roasts. I passed on buying the butcher knife because it’s only 8 inch. This kit came up on sale, I bought it for myself as a Christmas present. We had prime rib for Christmas. I cut the red roast with the knife, it was superb. So I bought a whole boneless pork loin and cut into chops. It failed at this task.
