I passed on buying the butcher knife because it’s only 8 inch. This kit came up on sale, I bought it for myself as a Christmas present. We had prime rib for Christmas. I cut the red roast with the knife, it was superb. So I bought a whole boneless pork loin and cut into chops. It failed at this task. It's not really a butcher knife, it’s to short and the shape docent help. It’s great foe cooked ribs.

I own several professional sets of knives, but the Wusthof Classic knives are definitely my favorite and they are a joy to use. You can see and feel instantly. Definitely worth the money and will last a lifetime, even if you abuse them.
