I bought these to replace a 10 year old set of Sabatier from bb& beyond. The primary thing I was looking for was non serrated steak knives. These knives are sharp right from the box. I took a piece of printing paper and held it by the edge and used a steak knife to slice it. The knife sliced cleanly through like a razor blade. The rest of the set feel sturdy and with the German steel I feel that this will be a great set. The fact that they tell you the sharpening bevel is also great so there is no guessing when it's time to true up the blades. I feel these knives are a great value for household kitchens.

We just love our new Viking 14 piece knife set. My husband didn’t know I ordered it and he really enjoyed working with the chef knife. He stated we should have got new knives years ago. We can’t believe how easy they are cutting. Hardly any effort at all. They look nice on the countertop and definitely doesn’t take up much space as our old one did! I love the scissors also! My old set the scissors was worthless this is not. These are very easy to hand wash. Highly recommend buying them! We did get a great buy on them.
