The first one would not grind. I returned it and got a replacement a few days later. The replacement has exceeded all of my expectations. It’s easy to set up. We have had it for only a few days and do not have any complaints but have a question. The instructions say not to use ROor distilled water. The city water here in College Station TX has a high sodium content consequently makes terrible coffee. We use RO water from a local supplier. We had the smaller unit and used this water. When we moved from GG(treated river water) we have been using the RO for about three years with no ill effects. There is something romantic about using this manual coffee grinder, over using an electric one. It is a burr grinder, which is superior to one that uses a blade. It adds to a morning coffee ritual and gives you a little exercise. Unlike an electric unit, it does not generate heat from the motor. It is not inexpensive, but no quality grinder is cheep.
