The Sea urchin green table lamp is made by a group of elderly women who live at the border of Burma and Thailand. The black terracotta lamp has a moss green reactive glaze and extrusions, each applied by hand to the side of the body, that mimic a sea urchin's profile. This green lamp is truly an artisanal piece, as the surface has a mottled look that gives the impression it has spent time underwater. We offer the Sea Urchin as a vase, as well.

The exaggerated U-shaped cutout in the center allows for light and shadows to uniquely play off its negative space. Purchased these lamps to go on the end tables in my guest bedroom and they do not disappoint. They arrived exactly as described and pictured. The Ricestone Graphite adds to the substantial weight, but the design of the base is not too bulky for end tables there is plenty of room for other things. The lamp shade is stark white and for the cost, I would have expected a more upgraded shades, but I love the lamps, nonetheless. Ian Thornton designed the Mithra brass table lamp with its powerful brutalist profile. The cast aluminum lamp has all of the attributes that make foundry pieces so special, such as the drifts of stippling on the metal's surface. The antique brass finish highlights the texture to bring the gold lamp the feel of a vintage piece. Thornton was inspired by a mid-century modern sculpture when he designed the Mithra. The honed granite base and the off-white shantung shade are clean-lined elements that leave the sculpture to shine.
