Initially burn in is crucial it smoked for a good 45 minutes. Let it cool then cooked 4 pies. Works excellent the stone got to 670 degrees. I am going to follow advice from other reviews and add a second pizza stone on bottom to shield it a bit and even out the cooking. The pizza oven works as advertised. Our first two or three pizzas were experiments with temperature, time in the oven, dough, sauce, etc. Now, we have a good system in place. Once you get the hang of it you will love it. Definitely worth the money. We also purchased the Blackstone regulator for the larger tank.
