I bought these to replace a 10 year old set of Sabatier from bb& beyond. The primary thing I was looking for was non serrated steak knives. These knives are sharp right from the box. I took a piece of printing paper and held it by the edge and used a steak knife to slice it. The knife sliced cleanly through like a razor blade. The rest of the set feel sturdy and with the German steel I feel that this will be a great set. The fact that they tell you the sharpening bevel is also great so there is no guessing when it's time to true up the blades. I feel these knives are a great value for household kitchens.. Anonymous. I am impressed with the look and feel of this 2 piece carving set. They are well constructed, feel heavy, but not too heavy to cut all meats from turkey to Rib-eye roasts. It’s a good, high quality knife overall, but I have other knives in the under $100 range that are comparable or better. So while it’s a good product, I am not convinced it has the best value proposition. Pros: very sharp; nice weight on the handle - pretty much the opposite of flimsy; great size knife for everyday cooking - does a perfect job of chopping veggies, cutting meats and chicken. Appears to be high quality that will last over time although seeing as I’ve only had it for a few weeks, I can’t comment on longevity yet. Cons: just after a few weeks of very light use, the knife did not pass the tomato test - it was very tough to cut through even cherry tomatoes. If a steak knife could be Royal, this would be it! These knives are gorgeous! The color I have is ice champagne. Pictures do not do it justice. They came in a beautiful box, which I have shown. Theyre 9.63long, full tang and double serrated, which makes for an easy cut. Notice the yummy steak They are also stainless steel. Did I mention I love them! They feel so good in your hand, and cut beautifully. Made in Italy, they are almost too pretty to use. This is a purchase you need. They would also make a luxurious Christmas or wedding gift.
