Kidney Executive Desk

Inspired by the tropical craftsmanship of the West Indies and classic British and Dutch colonial design periods, the Charleston writing desk has a timeless kidney shape, stretchers, rattan drawer fronts, intricately carved leaf motifs on the legs, and a robust leather writing surface top. Crafted of cherry veneers, rattan, and resin, it is finished in the deep, rich Maraschino cherry. There are five drawers. The left and right top drawers have one removable partition, one writing slide, and a pencil tray for use in either drawer. The center drawer has a drop-front for keyboard use. Antique bronze round knobs and ring-pull hardware add the finishing touch.

A beautiful kidney-shaped writing desk with fluted Sheraton-style legs. This piece features a cathedral mahogany top, fields of swirly-crotch mahogany on the drawers, oak-lined and dovetailed drawers, and solid brass hardware.

Kidney-shaped desk with gilt-tooled black leather top.  A high-end antique reproduction with variegated walnut cross-banded raised panels, solid oak drawers, and black leather inset top.  This kidney desk sits on two pedestal cabinets and a privacy panel. The generous privacy panel features a removable rear panel, revealing a storage area suitable for a large surge protector or monitor lift. The top of the desk has a large hinged trap door with a half-moon cutout for cable management. The desk has graduated drawers on the left, two pencil drawers, and a large storage area on the right.  The doors and drawers feature finely decorated brass pulls, which were crafted using traditional lost-wax casting techniques.  The desk is a medium golden brown, which coordinates well with walnut and mahogany. The lightly distressed finish on this desk is the result of a meticulous, multi-step process that creates a warm, patina-rich appearance resembling a period piece.  The finish is forgiving, easy to touch up, and suitable for active families.   The glazed black leather top has warm undertones and gilt tooling. Inside the privacy panel, we've included and attached a removable solid wood mounting block, which has been sized and designed to accept a Nexus 21 Model L-23 monitor lift. The NEXUS lift is NOT included in this item.

The quality of the materials and the finish were excellent, the craftmanship was a bit off in places. In the attached photo, there was no way to close the gap in the bottom left while keeping the section level. Also, the knee clearance is not up to ADA standards. This desk has a nice detailed open base with a unique curved top. Perfect for open spaces like a bedroom. Made with Rosa Morada, a very fine wood from Mexico. This desk has adjustable gliders for any type of flooring.

Very expensive desk/ took FOREVER to get in. Quality is mediocre. Had many cracks in the wood and splits beyond the “distressed look” described. Also had a moldy looking dust. The drawer was a different color than the desk and brass was gold not aged bronze as shown. Definitely looks like an inexpensive important from Mexico- as apposed to a high- end solid wood desk. Not work $3000 although Wayfair did the right thing and compensated to have the desk repair. Overall would not recommend for the price Again- love Wayfair for ease and time but quality control feels like the products are @seconds” and shipping is almost always an issue. S. AL. desk is beautiful but the drawer bay arrived damaged and I reported to perigold immediately and uploaded a picture and have still not heard or had any efforts to correct/replace the damaged desk. the drawer allignment is also off and rubs along the bottom and will damage the desk..
