This large-scale hall chest provides beautifully simple traditional lines with great interest derived from the Mappa Burl surfaces. Very functional with its large interior chamber behind the doors and two working drawers. Accented with aged nickel drawer pulls and leg ferrules.
Not my first choice but it fits in the space where I needed it. Top surface is pitted, not smooth, so I had to buy a sheet of glass to go over it. Photographs of the top were not provided in the listing. More honesty about which parts of the cabinet are solid and which are man-made veneer would have been appreciated. This is a quality piece. It came assembled except for the shelves. The product description should reflect that but doesn't. Wood feels solid. The back may possibly be mdf but is a single piece that blends and shows no screws or nails. The blue seems more of an admiral blue-cross between navy and royal-vs. a true navy blue. It was well-packaged so I was surprised there was damage to the back right corner. I suspect this was a quality check issue before packaging as it was so well packed I can't see how it could have happened during shipping. The delivery service was excellent. Perigold customer service was excellent. I was able to reach customer service to determine if there was resolution to the damage or to not accept delivery. I kept the piece because it was going in a space where the damage wouldn't be noticed as long as I put decor to hide it. This combined with the resolution is why I accepted delivery. This piece was perfect. Well made and delivered early. I did order a sample of the finish because from the pictures I wasn’t sure it would work. It was a good thing because the actual finish was very different. It’s much darker and less marble looking, BUT perfect for me. Very stately, clean lines, and good storage in the draws.. Ann.
