Artisans who create decorative accessories for Phillips Collection are known for making man-made materials look like natural elements. With so many of the unique pieces we produce, we bring a deep appreciation for melding nature and design, just as we have done with our Cast Onyx Large Bowl. The curvaceous, organically shaped decorative bowl has been hand-painted with a pattern that mimics the veining found in real onyx. We also offer this design in a smaller vessel, each of which reflects the ethos that Phillips Collection personifies: modern organic.

The original of this grand statement piece was created by a Portuguese artist whose work first caught our designers' eyes at an art fair in Portugal. It took years of collaboration to arrive at this design that can be consistently produced. Multiple pieces are cast, bound together, and fired. Then it receives a reactive glaze and is fired a second time. There is a tremendous amount of artisan work that goes into every piece. Entire rooms could be designed around this beautiful and functional sculpture.

There is some debate as to whether this centerpiece was inspired by the ruffles that denote an Elizabethan collar or the tentacles that waver from a sea anemone, but we'll let you decide. Beautiful plate. As with all Arteriors pieces, this plate is solid, heavy and elegant. The color is as it appears online. The shape is more like a circular wave as opposed to a flat circle.
