Inspired by the abstract faces that defined Picasso's artistic career, these sculptures are just as artistically daring and defiant. White rice stone is extraordinarily carved, leaving the onlooker awe-struck each time we are admired. A thin antique brass pillar extends from a luxe, clear crystal base to showcase this striking set. A true work of art for any style space.

Michael Aram
The "Faith" sculpture takes its inspiration from the Khor Virap monastery which is the symbolic birthplace of Christianity in Armenia. It was at Khor Virap (Armenian for "deep dungeon") where the man who would become Saint Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned in a pit for 14 years before he helped turn Armenia into the first Christian nation. Before attaining sainthood, Grigor Lusavorich was held in the bottom of a pit, where he was secretly fed by a local Christian woman who kept him alive. Later, after curing King Trdat III of a disease, he became the religious mentor of the monarch. During this time, Grigor would be instrumental in converting the king to Christianity. In 301 AD, King Trdat III proclaimed Christianity as the state religion of Armenia - marking the first nation to adopt Christianity officially. I first visited Khor Virap as a teenager over 40 years ago. The feeling I got while climbing through a small hole and descending into the dungeon where St. Gregory was thrown to die is something that I will never forget. The idea that a man could survive in those conditions for so many years was astonishing to me and is a testament to the depth of his Christian faith.

Featuring an antique bronze finish, the David Head statue is a great object for rounding out any traditional study or living ensemble. Inspired by Michelangelo's sculpture of the Biblical hero David, this piece is perfect for a touch of antiquity's authority in your décor. It is mounted on a square black marble plinth base.
The Golden Ginkgo collection takes its inspiration from the intricacies of form and texture found in foliage from around the world. By interpreting plant forms in cast metal, Aram presents work that is evocative of a natural environment transformed and redefined. "These pieces have wonderfully undulating leaves, which create an almost rococo surface of playful, delicate, and intricate forms. By combining the individually sculpted leaves, the natural forms join to create a complex pattern. I've tried to capture that sense of movement and fragility in metal."
It is lovely. Michael Aram is a true artist. I hope to purchase more pieces in the future.. Pamela. Athens, AL. 2025-02-26 19:22:15
The Olive Branch collection is one of the best-known and most loved of Michael's motifs. The simple forms create objects that serve wonderfully as stunning individual gifts or an exuberant table setting that decorates an entire moment of your life. The theme itself captures all the most distinctive aspects of Michael's work - narrative strength, deep symbolism, and extraordinary sculptural expression. "The Olive Branch has always held a powerful meaning for me representing both peace and victory. In designing functional objects with natural forms, there is a mingled sense of fragility and intensity. For me, it is like nature spreading through my interior spaces - like a magical olive grove sweetly willing its way into my home."
The Black Iris collection is inspired by the vitality and beauty of the iris flower. Named after the Greek word for rainbow, the idea of a "black rainbow" feels oxymoronic and mysterious. Michael Aram uses contrasting oxidized and polished brass, as his way of doubting the question of whether there is such a thing as an iris that is truly black. "I am fascinated with the beauty and mystery of black irises. They are symbolic of wisdom, courage, and admiration. Given as gifts, they convey deep sentiments."
Michael Aram's limited edition sculptures are handmade artistic explorations inspired by objects and ideas that capture Michael's imagination. The sculptures are individually crafted so that no two pieces are ever exactly alike. The moon gates are inspired by traditional round passageways found in Chinese landscape architecture which act as entry and exit points to the garden. The circular elements are symbolic of the idea of completion, representing and celebrating the cohesiveness of the family, as members pass through the gate to return home. Another interpretation is that, as the moon, the opening is symbolic of the cycle of life, and renewal as the full moon marks wholeness and is suggestive of new beginnings. "I love thinking of these sculptures as a portal into nature. By looking at the moon gate, I am reminded of the delicate balance between man and nature, and my need for connection between my home life and the beauty and abundance of nature."
Michael Aram has been fascinated with classical myths and heroes since he was a child and has used them as a resource for his work for many years. Prometheus is characterized as a protector and benefactor. He is the God of forethought and is considered the champion of all mankind, bringing fire down from Mt. Olympus and teaching humans how to keep it alive. He is symbolic of striving towards knowledge and helping others. "Now that I am a father, I love reliving my love of mythology with my children as we go through museums or watch Disney movies together." Michael Aram's limited edition sculptures are handmade artistic explorations inspired by objects and ideas that capture Michael's imagination. The sculptures are limited to 136 editions each and are individually crafted so that no two pieces are ever exactly alike.

Beautiful sculpture. When the sun shines through the window and reflects onto the head it glows. My only complaint was the delay in receiving, as the first shipment was lost and had to be reordered.. Karen. Scottsdale, AZ. 2019-12-15 14:52:28
These limited-edition sculptures are handmade artistic explorations inspired by objects and ideas that capture the imagination. Each sculpture is individually crafted so that no two pieces are ever exactly alike. "This piece was created from a small sculptural study I did many years ago. The vision of an enormous wing exemplifies a desire to grow and take flight while the idea of an egg suggests new beginnings. It is an image that represents bursting free and spreading your wings. Overall, this represents the idea of progression and energy, and also of our innate power to shape our paths and define our futures". The Flights of Fancy collection is a series of unique objects that celebrate whimsy in daily life. Whether seen individually or among other pieces, they evoke a sense of charm and fantasy. Drawing profoundly from Aram's background as a sculptor, each piece emerges from hand-sculpted clay and offers a child-like quality with an inherent depth of meaning. "There is such power in narrative images for me. The shapes are obvious and immediate and, at the same time, impressionistic and lyrical - the way a small child might imagine the scenes in a story he's being told. I've always been fascinated by objects of ritual. The idea that an object can have such deep, emotional significance to so many people is deeply moving."
The Espalier ornament collection portrays a series of unique objects that celebrate symbols of the holiday season. Whether seen individually or as a group, they evoke a sense of charm and fantasy with the undeniable signature of Michael's style. Drawing profoundly from Michael's background as a sculptor, each piece emerges from hand-sculpted clay and offers a child-like quality with an inherent depth of meaning. "Espalier ornaments hold a special meaning for me, along with millions of people across the world. Each one is like a little jewel, with its own story and its connections. Every year, they make their highly anticipated appearance and it feels like they bring a particular magic with them. The whole process is like a profound family ritual that sweetly symbolizes everything the holidays are about."
