Used in the preparation of the Indian flatbread known as "chipatti", these wooden bowls are what remain of the ancient tradition of creating family-owned utensils in-house. Carved from single pieces of wood, these vintage re-purposed utensils are unique and beautifully patinated with no two being exactly alike.
The twisty Japanese cherry bowl is inspired by a U.K. artist who took rubber castings of Japanese cherry blossom trees from forests across Europe, creating the organic texture of the exterior. Made from Portuguese ceramic, this stunning bowl is the perfect intersection of luxury and nature.
Cased glass bowl made in amber-colored interiors with blue exteriors. Both the interior and exterior are originally shiny glass until our artisans apply a chemical etching to the exterior surface to help create a soft texture giving contrast to the shiny interior. The final design has been hand "pulled" while still molten into the shapes you see here, and also "pinched" on the front edge to add special emphasis to the bulging shape where the trip originates.
I bought this piece for a friend and had it shipped directly to the recipient. It was shipped from Wayfair and there wasn’t any way to add a gift card, so she was confused when she received it. We managed to resolve that because I got a notice saying it had been delivered so was able to text her and let her know it was from me. Not the ideal situation, but an old friend so it worked out in the end. I’ve not seen the bowl in person so can’t comment personally but she said it’s gorgeous and about the size of a fruit bowl. (This is the larger size) She loved it and has displayed it, receiving many compliments.. Elizabeth. Sharon, MA. 2023-08-04 10:38:55
