This silhouette does not demand attention; instead, it offers an enduring appeal that enhances the home through its simple, honest construction.
In 1996, our well-known designer Grethe Meyer created Colorline, a textile series where her sense of beauty in simplicity was expressed. The same pattern is reflected in the functional tote bags with strong straps so they are durable and can be used for years.
FDB Møbler presents the J27B, a timeless testament to Børge Mogensen’s 1940s mastery of Danish functionalism. Ermelunden is a garden furniture series designed by the furniture designer Borge Mogensen in 1965. The name Ermelunden is taken from a small forest in Gentofte, close to where he lived. Intended as a stationary furniture arrangement. It was imperative for Borge Mogensen that his furniture was highly functional. And so it is no coincidence that he chose to give Ermelunden wide feet to prevent the legs from sinking into the grass. Moreover, Borge Mogensen was aware of people's different sitting positions, which is why the backrest is shaped with two different angles, providing support when either sitting up straight or when adopting a more relaxed posture. Borge Mogensen was so pleased with Ermelunden that he chose to have the furniture in his private garden in Gentofte and also at his holiday home near Limfjorden in central Jutland.
The oak tree is an ancient symbol of Denmark and its natural environment, and it also happens to be a favorite material of the design duo Mot & Bergstrom in creating furniture for FDB Mobler. Continuing that trend, they now offer two new mirrors with solid oak frames—one oblong and curved, the other round—guaranteed to blend in harmoniously with their predecessors. The mirrors take their name from Mosso, the largest of the lakes in the Central Jutland highlands—lakes that have served as a source of inspiration for this talented team.
Philips Bro's Alle product line is for those seeking to enhance their entrance hall and bedroom with a simple, contemporary expression. The series includes coat racks, a circular scarf holder, and a mirror—each with an organic yet stringent design. The racks build on classic Shaker tradition and were envisioned as small trees lining an elegant old avenue. The mirror is suspended by a strap of shell cordovan leather, like a shining lake next to the avenue, while the circular scarf holder can be suspended from the coat rack by its own leather strap. The Alle range can be combined as needed to create a natural, harmonious design that complements the interior decor of most homes.
In 2014, Thomas E. Alken designed the refined series of garden furniture Sammen (Danish for Together) which has since been expanded with a set of large, soft cushions. Combining Danish design and functionality, the new cushions complete the Sammen series—and make it possible to use your outdoor space even more.
The horse rug was originally developed at The Royal Military Clothing Factory, which produced textiles for the Danish Army, Navy, and the Guard Hussars. Originally intended to clothe army horses, this textile was adapted for use in furniture in the 1970s. It became a significant export success as the primary fabric for many iconic Danish design pieces. Danish Art Weaving took over production in 1995, and today FDB Møbler has renewed this cooperation to share the history of this famous textile with new generations.
The stylish and functional Norrebro desk by designer Isabel Ahm. Thanks to the simple design that has been pared down to the absolute essentials, Norrebro is a table that fits into any home – even smaller apartments. The desk has a raised level that acts as an extra shelf for additional storage. Use it for your laptop to increase ergonomic comfort or for your favourite home decorations.
The J48 chair is Poul Volther's classic dining chair from 1951, which over the years has proved to be one of the most popular chairs in the FDB Mobler range. With its solid oak design, and the upholstered seat in either leather or textile, the J48 chair exudes quality. The rounded and separate backrests, similar to those on Poul Volther's Corona chair, provide a high degree of sitting comfort and an extremely aesthetic and uniquely original look.
In the decades since they were created, way back in 1944, Mogens Koch's bookcases have become a Nordic furniture design icon, finding their way not only all over Denmark, from small homes to parliamentary offices and boardrooms, but all over the world. Simply executed, with the highest quality materials and workmanship, they epitomize functionality in the way they lend themselves to myriad combinations. Their freshness, relevance and aesthetic appeal renew themselves for each generation. Position them horizontally to make a low shelf, stack them to create a bookcase or mount them on the wall. Choose the size that suits your intended use, whether it’s for storing books, LPs or anything else.
The armchair is one of the most important pieces of furniture in the home, holding a very special status in Danish design. It is a sanctuary where we can relax and recharge. When the famous architect Poul Volther created the Shikhare armchair, he had his wife in mind—hence the name. Shikhare relaxed while knitting with long needles, so space was specifically made for them too. To this day, there is room for knitting, a laptop, or an iPad in this comfortable armchair.
Elegant in looks and always at your service. The designer duo Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen has, with the Butler series of dressers and sideboards, literally taken furniture to new heights. Not just by the use of long slender legs, but also through choosing light materials in oak veneer and subdued colours for the dressers. The secretary is made of particle board with an oak veneer. Veneer is a natural material, and natural variations will therefore occur in the surface. This makes the secretary unique. Consequently, no two secretarys are exactly the same.
J165 is an elegant and stylish take on a high stool with distinctively clean lines and a round, comfortable paper cord seat. It is unusual to see a woven seat on this silhouette, but with an expression similar to other Danish dining chair classics, this high-chair clearly writes itself into that design tradition. A classic Jørgen Bækmark design with a highly contemporary functionality, J165 comes in different versions and was released to celebrate Bækmark's 90th birthday.
By combining solid oak and a very straightforward design approach with simple and immediate constructions, the designer has created the iconic details of the B100 Soro Shelf. Soro is made by Laura Bilde, one of our newest designers at FDB Mobler. The shelf works fine on its own, but due to the simple design and construction, you can also group more of them together to create large, flexible shelving systems.
This woven series by the renowned FDB designer Jorgen BEkmark comprises several pieces of furniture, including the classic and iconic J80 dining chair. The series harks back to the golden age of FDB Mobler in the 1950s and has survived to this day due to its elegant and timeless look. J82, the lounge chair that doubles as a freestanding chair, is comfortable to sit in for long periods of time as it is made from quality materials from the paper cord to the solid wood.
Borge Mogensen's J52D is based on the comfortable Windsor Chair J52B, which quickly became a classic when it first came on the market in 1952. The bench retains the chair's contemporary, harmonious and light-and-airy styling, with the curved line in the backrest. At the same time, the J52D is a comfortable two-seater – around the dining table or as a freestanding piece of furniture elsewhere in the home. An heirloom bench for the whole family!
Thomas E. Alken's popular outdoor series is a beautiful and functional base for family dinners, good times, and relaxing under the summer sun. "Sammen" is the Danish word for Together, and nothing brings people together like round tables. Here, the social experience becomes even more intimate, everyone can see and hear each other – and should a few extra guests drop by you simply move closer and make room.
Shaea is a stylish shelf with numerous uses that harks back to the Danish golden age of design. The drawings of Ejvind Johansson’s shelf surfaced in FDB Mobler’s archives, and it transpired that the shelf was one of the first pieces of furniture the legendary designer drew as head of FDB Mobler’s design studio. Today, the shelf has been put into production, and appears as a timeless yet contemporary piece of furniture in oak veneer with two brackets in either stainless steel or black-painted. The shelf is can be combined in a myriad of ways or hang by itself when you need a shelf that combines beauty and functionality.
Philips Bro's product line Alle is for those seeking to enhance their entrance hall and bedroom with a simple, contemporary expression. The series includes coat racks, a circular scarf holder and a mirror, each with an organic yet stringent design. The racks build on classic Shaker tradition and were envisioned as small trees lining an elegant old avenue. The mirror is suspended by a strap of shell cordovan leather, like a shining lake next to the avenue. And the circular scarf holder, which also has a leather strap, can be suspended from the coat rack. The Alle range can be combined as needed. Altogether a natural, harmonious design that goes well with the interior decor of most homes.
J164 is the Danish designer Jorgen BEkmark's take on a high stool with a square, comfortable seat. While Danish designers have produced a wealth of dining chairs and armchairs, it is the first time that a high stool is being written into the Danish design tradition. With its paper cord seat and simple, functional lines, it is a perfect match for other pieces of furniture in the Danish design tradition. J164 comes in different versions and was released to celebrate Jorgen BEkmarks 90th birthday.
The V43 Top is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. The tray is produced in FSC -certified oak and has a calm, organic design with soft curves and elegant joints. Use it for serving and storage in the kitchen, for nick-nack and flowers in the living room or for breakfast in bed. The beautiful wooden tray first saw the light of day as the top of FDB Mobler's Bakketop table, designed in collaboration between designer Philip Bro and cabinet maker Mathias Juul Overvad.
Suru is Japanese for ‘through', and the lounge chair, which bears this name, is designer Carina Maria's attempt to make a chair in which the Japanese and Scandinavian idioms meet. The chair is made of two elegant shells with organic forms, one of which has to pass through the other. The chair rests on a wooden frame with large mortise joints. The result is an elegant and comfortable lounge chair, which is great for relaxation and contemplation – without being a heavy, traditional armchair. A beautiful and central furniture piece in a home where the present and the past meet.
Ermelunden is a garden furniture series designed by Borge Mogensen in 1965. The name is taken from a small forest in Gentofte, close to where the designer lived. Intended as a stationary arrangement, the series reflects Mogensen's commitment to high functionality; it is no coincidence that he gave Ermelunden wide feet to prevent the legs from sinking into the grass. Mogensen was so pleased with the design that he chose to feature it in both his private garden in Gentofte and his holiday home near Limfjorden in central Jutland.
Birkso is a mirror created for FDB Mobler, sporting the hallmarks of the familiar classics from the company’s history. The wooden wedge of the mirror, a turned cigar-shaped circular stick, is recognisable from many of the most iconic pieces of furniture. Birkso thus contributes to the story of FDB Mobler’s design heritage, while its simple, curved shape will grace any living space, e.g. the hallway, bathroom or living room. The mirror is easy to wall-mount using the stretch-resistant webbing strap woven into the herringbone pattern.
FDB Møbler presents the Bjork dining table, a masterful intersection of mid-century heritage and contemporary innovation. Sculpted from solid, FSC-certified oak wood, this piece honors the material’s intrinsic character through visible grain patterns and minor knots that ensure every surface is unique. Built to endure with a ten-year limited warranty, this heirloom-quality centerpiece pairs effortlessly with classic seating, inviting the warmth of organic timber into the heart of the home.
Great design is all in the detail. The footstool does not usually receive much attention when it comes to garden furniture. However, the footstool in the ‘Sammen' series is more than just somewhere to place your feet when seated in a garden chair. In terms of its design and craftsmanship, the footstool is a perfect match for the rest of the series, as well as upholding FDB Mobler's proud furniture-making traditions. As an extra detail, it transforms into a small table when you place the ‘Sammen' tray on top of it – a small side table with its own distinctive look.
FDB Møbler presents the J185, a masterwork by Stine Weigelt that elevates the art of togetherness. Crafted from solid oak, this low-back silhouette features signature tapered legs and clean lines. Arriving fully assembled, this piece bridges the gap between intimate dwellings and grand culinary spaces with its natural, timeless elegance.
J83 is a simple, comfortable stool that is among the most iconic designs from the first golden age of FDB Møbler. Jørgen Bækmark, who was head of the FDB Møbler design studio from 1958, designed it to complement the popular J80 and J81 dining chairs, as well as the J82 lounge chair—or armchair, as it was called back in the 1960s. These pieces are part of a design that has literally proved timeless and been popular for generations. Bækmark stressed that furniture should be comfortable, and this is certainly true of the stool, too.
Jørgen Bækmark designed the classic Trombetta Dining table in 1963, and it quickly became a sought-after piece of furniture at FDB Møbler. Today, the simple and functional design is available as a dining table and coffee table, both made from solid oak, plywood, and durable FENIX laminate. The frame is in a natural color. The tabletop is reversible, so you can choose between two different colors of laminate depending on your mood. FENIX laminate is a strong material that combines aesthetics and functionality. It has a matte and durable surface, which is easy to clean and offers the further surprise of leaving no fingerprints.
Borge Mogensen’s A232 sideboard first appeared in the FDB Mobler catalog in 1964, and in the decades that followed it became a coveted item of vintage furniture. With a reputation like that, it’s no surprise that this piece has now found its way back into the company’s current lineup. A distinguished representative of the work of one of Danish furniture design's most prominent names, it manages to be both supremely functional, with its wide range of storage options, and, thanks to an FSC -certified veneer finish and custom-crafted brass components, thoroughly stylish. Select from trays of different sizes to suit your individual needs.

Danes have grown taller in just a couple of generations. Therefore, it is only natural for Jørgen Bækmark's well-known woven bench to be upgraded by a few centimeters. And it works perfectly without a piano also: in the dining room, in the entrance, or anywhere, in fact, where a small seat is needed. The bench was part of a relaunch to mark Jørgen Bækmark's 90th birthday, where the emphasis has been on the woven furniture that is both so characteristic of his time, but at the same time timeless and forever modern.
FDB Møbler presents the Ragnesminde Solid Wood End Table, a poetic bridge between Denmark’s artisanal heritage and modern sensibility. The combination tray and table called Bakketop ("Hilltop") provides a splendid example of how FDB Mobler blends design, craftsmanship and functionality to produce products that are far more than the sum of their parts. Perfectly suited to the bedside or the end of a sofa, Bakketop also works well as a freestanding piece of furniture. It was originally designed for Snedkernes Efterarsudstilling (Cabinetmakers’ Autumn Exhibition) in 2018, and the young carpenter Mathias Juul Overvad gets the credit for its highly detailed woodworking.
It is not without reason that the Parachute spoke-back chair has been a beautiful point of reference in many Danish homes. Its curves are typical of classic Danish furniture design, and at the same time the curved armrests invite deep relaxation for the person sitting in the chair. Erik Ole Jørgensen’s range of spoke-back furniture dates back to 1978 and makes clear references to the other great designers who laid the foundations of FDB Møbler. Erik Ole Jørgensen had a background as both an upholsterer and a furniture designer, and perhaps this is why the interaction between cushions and furniture is especially successful here.
The Sonderup stools are designed by one of our newest designers, Chastine Lavoie. Celebrating natural wood grain variations, this heirloom piece brings Danish craftsmanship to the dining space, backed by a ten-year limited warranty.
In Denmark, there are several places with the name Holmen. Historically, it has been used to name areas particularly associated with seafaring or maritime activities, but it can also symbolize isolated places in nature like small islands or areas surrounded by water. The Holmen Chair is created with the essence of the island in mind. Every part of its design, from the clean lines to the soft curves, evokes the calm and harmonious atmosphere found on an isolated island. Holmen is the Danish word for Islet and that's why the name "Holmen" is entirely appropriate. Holmen is an elegant chair that blends modern design and maritime references. But Holmen is more than just a piece of furniture – it's a story of adventure and tranquility, of immersing yourself in the beauty of nature and finding inspiration in the simple pleasures of island life.
