Made of composite in an aged beige finish with random spritzes of antiquing, the Ancient Greek Torso Sculpture masquerades as an artifact. The marble-like sculpture has two artisans to thank for its feeling of authenticity: the mold maker, who is central to the work; and the painter, who hand-paints the piece to create the illusion that it was unearthed after being carved ions ago.

This Rubenesque figural sculpture convincingly replicates an antique statue of the Goddess Venus, though it is made of composite. It's the finish that fools the eye, the aged beige rubbed onto the surface so that it collects in the rougher spots, mimicking how the stone would have looked where it was broken off. The beige sculpture is attached to a solid black marble base and mounted to read like it's a museum piece.

Though the Composite Young Royal Greek Torso Bust looks as if it has survived since ancient times, it is inspired by a museum antique. The skill of the artisans who created it is evident, not only in how the broken areas are so convincing but in the aged-beige finish that fools the eye into thinking it is carved from stone.
