Unusually lightly colored, translucent, and soft stones, alabaster has been used throughout history primarily for carving decorative artifacts. A tapered, alabaster base juxtaposed by a more traditional drum shade, makes this lamp a beautifully well-balanced source of light and style.
It's a nice lamp. It was intended for the entry foyer table, but the lamp wasn't large enough for that space. It now lives on a dresser in a bedroom, which is a much better fit. It has a three-way socket which is great, but I don't love that the cord comes out of the top of the lamp. I suppose this has to happen since the base is solid alabaster. At least the cord is clear, so no harm, no foul.. Pamela. Las Vegas, NV. Wed Dec 03 2025
