I was pleasantly surprised to find the cord coming out of the base of the lamp. The website said it was a French type of cord that apparently comes out of the top. I was worried I’d have to return it since I didn’t see that until after I bought it. But nope. It’s the normal kind.

It's a nice lamp. It was intended for the entry foyer table, but the lamp wasn't large enough for that space. It now lives on a dresser in a bedroom, which is a much better fit. It has a three-way socket which is great, but I don't love that the cord comes out of the top of the lamp. I suppose this has to happen since the base is solid alabaster. At least the cord is clear, so no harm, no foul.

Thus was a gorgeous lamp with the cord in wrong place so unusable

It matched the one I bought retail several years ago

This is a truly stunning lamp. We changed out the shade for an opaque one with foil lining and it makes the stone base look luminous. Very happy and highly recommended.
