According to different cultures, it is an ancestral symbol of the life cycle, of wisdom and knowledge, spirituality or power and protection. The design of this piece is based on the contrast between the pure lines of the vase, decorated in an austere black color, and the sinuous movement of the snake, decorated in golden luster.

The Cherry Blossom collection is inspired by the liveliness and vitality of the Japanese flower as it blossoms each Spring. Embodying the ideals of renewal, Michael is captivated by the intricate nature of the flower and the symbolism that it holds. Representing fragility and the beauty of life, the Cherry Blossom collection combines soft, muted pink tones with golden brass and white marble to add a delicacy that exhibits the pure beauty of nature.

The collection celebrates the representation of flora as fauna. Michael's fascination with a particular type of ginkgo tree, the ginkgo Biloba, or "butterfly ginkgo", which grows with a double leaf reminiscent of a butterfly's wings, gave rise to a fantasia image of the plant. Executed at the highest level of handcraftsmanship, each piece is rendered in solid brass with hand-etched cocoon-shaped vessels. The pieces in the collection are a tour de force of the handcrafted process, capturing the poetic spirit that is so deeply indicative of Michael's work.

I am fascinated by this mystery behind a black orchid's origin, and the question of if they truly exist in nature."
