Heavy base and made extremely well. I fell in love with this lamp when I saw it in the background off a scene on a national tv commercial and has since seen it in a scene on a cable show. Beautiful retro design that fits into my home office. I really wanted the white lamp but I think it's been discontinued. The black lamp is just as stunning. I love the design!
