This is a truly beautiful rug. It is basically a tapestry, so it is not suitable for a high traffic area, as it shows every speck of dirt. It needs frequent vacuuming. The creases you see in photo have definitely relaxed and disappeared after several months. It is a perfect choice for a cottage motif, if you don’t mind that it will need some fussy tlc. The border colors are shades of grey. It looked dark green on my screen so I wanted to clarify. Also, this rug is absolutely not reversible, which is why I detracted a star from the review. The inspiration for this collection comes from 16th-century Indian carpet weavers, who created the most beautiful carpets for the royal courts of the mogul emperors. Based on authentic oriental designs and handwoven in the city of Agra. Hand-knotted in India, from 100% hand-spun natural lustrous native Indian. The colors used are all-natural vegetable dyes. The knotting system used in construction is the oriental sense knot. Although the knot count is not considered high, the pile is very thick. As a result, which is a high content resulting in a rug that will offer longer wear.

Based on an original Asmara painting done in the style of Pompeian Frescoes of ceiling paintings. Leaves and flowers in shades of persimmon and branch toward the center on an oatmeal, fresco ground. This hand made cut and loop rug was made by combining a loop weave invented by Asmara with the Savonnerie pile weave. We used ancient French dyeing methods to create thousands of shade and texture variations reminiscent of the frescoes of Pompeii. Also available in needlepoint. Has passed independent durability tests by the Independent Textile Service of Dalton, Georgia, USA. Green manufacturing methods make this rug safe for children and pets. Use with a pad.
