The carpet is well made, and very soft; I put carpet under padding to provide extra cushioning. Slight smell due to the fact it was rolled up for a long time. After delivery, I still did not get an opportunity to lay the area rug down. Make sure you read up on the care of hand woven rugs, I used my Dyson to vacuum the carpet to give the wool fibers to breath. I would order the carpet again.
