This is truly a heavy-duty griddle. We cooked the remaining halves of packages of thick-cut bacon, hotdogs, and three large bratwursts, and there was still plenty of room for burgers, if we had them. After debating purchasing the soapstone, I decided to go ahead and treat myself, and I am thankful that I did. This this is awesome, very well made and simple to use. I love to cook with this, but in less than a month it's lost almost all its non stick properties. The griddle also has a weird stain from the butter. I only ever cook with it on medium heat. I only clean it with soap and water, and a non abrasive brush and it is still ruined. Very disappointed in this product and I do not recommend. I wanted to love it but that is not the case.. This product has been in our line since the 1940s and for good reason--it's a true classic that performs time after time. Once you use a sizzling steak platter (as they came to be known in the early days), you'll never want to grill food again without it. Place the stainless platter on top of your grill lid (or for sizzling results, directly on the grill grates) as your food nears completion.
