Liuli is a Chinese term from the Han Dynasty for glass art, and was chosen to honor the richness of Chinese heritage and culture. Records show that artisans of the Han Dynasty were highly skilled in lost-wax casting (pâte de verre) but the craft was subsequently lost and forgotten. Yang and Chang revived the craft and reintroduced it to the international arena.

HIGHLY recommend. You can't ever miss with Robert Abbey lighting. It's a little expensive, but the quality is amazing. The brushed bronze finish is great and is exactly what I expected. I also like how the double shades filter the light for a soft ambience in my bedroom. Cons: I installed this sconce as a direct plug-in, and the on/off switch is surprisingly far down on the cord. Aurora is a story of a celestial voyage: inspired by NASA satellite footage, to create a collection that captures the feeling of flying through space and witnessing an aurora Australis from above dancing on the surface of the Earth. Drawing from a palette of delicate greens, fuchsias and blues, we sought to mimic the elegant melange of colors emitted by aurora. We juxtapose these translucent colors with opaque blacks, silicas, and clouded resin panels. This new Aurora line is our most ambitious lighting endeavor yet, allowing for use in a multitude of settings - from throughout the home to museums and large-scale event installations. The Modular Aurora is adaptable to a number of different contexts.
