Clara is a floor lamp designed by Arturo Alvarez. Its sinuous forms of stainless steel mesh are handmade in Spain. This lamp is a tribute to Clara Campoamor, lawyer, writer, politician and defender of Spanish women’s rights in the late 19th and 20th century. She was also one of the main promoters of women’s suffrage in Spain, which was achieved in 1931.
The Gea collection takes its name from the primordial goddess, mother earth. The stylized luminaires that comprise it resemble upright female figures that defy verticality, enveloped in a ribbed veil of painted stainless steel mesh that clings to their subtle curves. The Gea floor lamp, designed by Arturo Álvarez, features a zipper that allows the handmade mesh piece to be opened or closed. It emits a soft, enveloping light, which is evenly distributed throughout the structure. The main piece of the collection, which won a Good Design Award in 2007, is the floor lamp, an elegant sculptural volume that blends into any environment, adding a note of distinction to the room.
