Clear glass was not what I wanted.

This piece has understated elegance and was easy to install. Just wish a little more of the gold inner rim would show; only half the width of the gold rim is visible once the diffuser shade is in place.

Great as a bedroom ceiling light!

Gorgeous and it works perfectly.

The light is really pretty in person but I do have a few helpful observations. First, the lamp is somewhat of a spotlight in that the direction of the light is straight below and it's not very bright outside of that field (whereas a globe flush mount would spread light all around the given room). Second, the lamp does not get really tight when installed on the ceiling so some light does come out the top vs a seamless snug fit. If either of these things bother you I would look for another light.
