This board weighs a ton so it is extremely good quality and does not slip and slide around on the countertop. It is constructed of a beautiful cherry wood and is designed to prevent dulling of knives. The thickness is great because its surface height does not strain the back while cutting or chopping. I have dreamed of owning a John Boos board for a very long time and am thrilled that Wayfair made my dream come true thanks to their convenient credit card. I absolutely love this board!
