It covers the entire sink bowl, thus converting your sink into a countertop when you need. Also included is a a 5-inch deep stainless steel colander that you can use as a strainer or a drying caddy. The sink features a thick solid 8 gauge (5mm thick) rim all around that sits topmount on your countertop. The rest of the sink is constructed of 16 gauge stainless steel, one of the thickest steel available for residential kitchens.
