We suggest that birdbath tops not be left outside in the winter. Once the top fills with water/snow and freezes, the top may crack. All birdbath/fountain bases, bench legs, and statuary should be raised off the ground in winter so they will not freeze to the ground surface. Ideally, a fountain should be stored indoors in the winter away from the elements. However, if a fountain bowl must be left outside, remove all pumps, rubber stoppers, drain pipes, finials, and small components, and cover the top with burlap or any absorbent material (old blanket/towel) and then wrapped with dark plastic, making sure that water does not accumulate in the basin and freeze. Fountain pumps, finials, and other small components should be stored indoors. Check the fountain periodically to ensure that the cover is secure and water is not accumulating in any fountain component.

I love, love this fountain! The bases are wide and don't topple when, for example, a cat or squirrel jumps on. The 3 tiers are not physically attached, so there is a lot of freedom in how you can arrange them (you'll need help moving the lowest basin, but an adult male can handle the other pieces alone). Most pedestal fountains have a rubber gasket sealing the hole where the pump cord goes, but this has a hidden tube above the waterline to pass the power cord through, so no seal is needed. This made it easy for me to replace the pump with a solar-powered one. I am not a fan of resin, and I really appreciate the "real" look of the stone. It is just as pictured only the color is different. It took 5 men to get it in place we have one spout that the water is not streaming from it’s the center top bowl and my guess is there could be a little more adjustment needed.
