I bought this griddle to replace one which had seen better days. After searching online, I found this little gem at Perigold. It's most similar to the Calphalon griddle that I'm replacing and the price was the best I found online by about $10! Great piece of cookware. Brown meats and deglaze with sautéing your vegetables- great flavor for better meals. It is not cheap, but invest in good cookware! Staub has never disappointed me. This skillet is a bit deeper than others, that I have. Cuts down on the spatter and holds a larger volume of food. Designed for efficiency, most cooking can be done on low to medium heat. Viking cast iron will distribute and retain the heat evenly, allowing the pan to reach and maintain ideal cooking temperatures with lower energy requirements. Conversely, cast iron holds cold temperatures equally well for food storage and serving or preparing cold recipes. Viking cast iron features a non-reactive glossy enamel interior that is durable enough to handle metal utensils but will not react with foods, maintaining the flavor during cooking.
