Mark's grandfather was one of the earliest generations who founded modern Egyptian art. He remembers growing up and admiring his paintings. Marks skill set developed studying old master paintings in museums in different countries around the world. Mark finds inspiration from nature and the world around him. I was born in the Foothills of California, a small town called Tuolumne, fairly close to Yosemite National Park. I studied textile design and oil painting. I studied at a local community college back home and at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandise. Art has a lot of meaning to me. It’s a way of communicating, expressing myself, and connecting myself to my thoughts and to others. I find inspiration mainly from nature and emotions. I like to use all mediums, but my favorites are oil, acrylic, and watercolor. I enjoy being outdoors, playing music, painting, singing, writing, and being with friends.

I’m not fully sold on this shade of blue-it’s rather a murky grey-blue color, nothing vibrant or perky. The rug is well made and it’s also very thick. I need a much thinner pad than what I anticipated. Using it in front of a slider that has high traffic and think it will hold up well with the wool content. But aesthetically, it’s just a rug.. An organic and instinctual painter, Artist Sarah Stockstill’s process relies on a foundation of several layers of texture that is applied and sanded back to get a smooth surface that lets her most immediate marks shine on the surface. Responding to color and forms, she follows as led. Sometimes into a deep horizon with traces of landscape, an organic jungle of pattern, a human figure, and every now and then an animal with an ethereal mystique. Sometimes the layering is broad, covering the entire canvas, and sometimes it is minute, focusing and embellishing a possible overlooked element of the painting which in turn becomes the center of interest. Most always layers are created and taken away, leaving small traces whose threads become more important for doing so.
