Absolutely Stunning! And worth the effort. This large and heavy piece arrived in packaging that ensured its protection 100 percent, but was a challenge to unpack. Encased in an expandable styrofoam, it was difficult to discern how to unpack it or which way was up. No instructions were provided on how to access it. I literally had to claw through the material and dig carefully, much like an archeologist would. Once I was able to figure out how it was situated in the material, I was able to remove it. All of this effort left quite the mess. This artwork is gorgeous. Upon unboxing I discovered it was covered in a black soot-like substance, and required washing. I chose this piece for a dramatic Halloween table display and it worked beautifully. After washing, I put felt on the bottom and placed it on a black cloth so not to damage my table or linens. I absolutely love my Great Horned Owl statue! I mounted it on a stump and put it in my hosta garden and it looks stunning! A word to the wise: I live in a woodland area and originally had my owl displayed toward the back of the lot, against a backdrop of tree trunks and other wood. Because of his color, which is a brown that matches the tree trunks almost entirely, he blended into the background and was hard to see. I moved it up closer and put it in front of a greener background, and now it pops! He has lots of detail and is very realistic looking.
