The Twig Collection originated with one of Studio A Home's inspired artisans. He went into the woods and selected interesting branches, made prototypes using the real branches, then cast the table bases and mirror frames from the prototypes. It would be impossible to capture the organic shapes, subtle movement, and intricate detail of the branches using any other method. Nature does it best!

When Spanish explorers set out on trade missions to Asia from the new world of North America, they stored the gold in large iron boxes which were further enforced with interlaced metal straps and large complex locking mechanisms. Opening these locks required three separate keys, held by three separate people. The metal bands featured on the galleon mirrors were inspired by an iron box in the collections of the museum of international folk art.

Bamboo has long been a symbol of virtue and according to Chinese folklore, it reflects people's souls and emotions. This naturally shaped bamboo motif Salk mirror is formed from cast iron through the use of lost wax castings. The bamboo stalks carry a bronze finish with slight golden accents on the raised and relief areas with antique brass finish on the leaves, as the leaves would grow in nature on the bamboo stalks. The leaves seem to "travel" around the frame, starting from one side and point and ending on the other side and point of the mirror. The mirror hangs with a simple keyhole hanger.
