As the deva of intellect and wisdom, Ganesha is one of the most well known deities in the Hindu pantheon. While he is known for many things, Ganesha’s elephant head is by far his most distinctive feature. The Ganesha Head Lava Relief is a dimensional sculpture crafted from ceramic and finished in lava stone, then placed within a wooden frame. The iconic elephant head is on full display surrounded amongst horizontal etchings that contain small hints of silver leaf. The light tone of the wood contrasts with the darker hue of the sculpture, creating a light interplay within the peace that stirs intrigue and instills a sense of tranquility.

The legend goes that Ganesha, the son of Shiva and Parvati, was born while his father was fighting against the Asuras or devils. When he returned from war, Ganesha did not recognize him and a fight broke out between the two in which Shiva beheaded his son. Shiva went down to earth with the promise of giving his son the head of another being and it turned out to be an elephant. Believed to be the eliminator of obstacles, Lord Ganesha transcends its huge importance in the Hindu culture and becomes a universal symbol of wisdom. Lladró's artists have recreated the Hindu god of wisdom and knowledge in a winning combination of matte porcelain with enamels, golden luster in various different parts of the piece plus metallic effects paying tribute to the wealth of its iconography. The powerful image of a beautiful child preserving all the creatures of the world from destruction has inspired Krishna on a leaf, a precious piece that combines the tenderness of the childlike representation with the luxurious and detailed ornamental richness of God's attire. It is decorated with a combination of glossy and matt porcelain with glazes and various parts finished in gold. Everything in this piece is taken care of down to the smallest detail: The chromatic range used in the decoration is inspired by the traditional iconography of India and the instrument in his hand (the bansuri) is made of gold-plated brass. Krishna on the leaf is handmade in Lladró's workshops in Valencia, Spain.

The love between Radha and Krishna has given rise to some wonderful fables and their story is an important part of major Hindu celebrations like Jhulan Yatra, the festival of swings. After the summer heat, when the clouds float high in the sky, the Brajwasi celebrate the arrival of the first rains. With the onset of monsoon season, ponds and lakes fill with rainwater, lotus flowers blossom, the air is scented with a pleasant fragrance, and the forests of Vrindavan are decorated with wonderful Jhula, like the one on which Radha and Krishna swing in this high porcelain creation. Following tradition, the swing is finely decorated with many flowers which, like the garland worn by Krishna, have all been handmade one by one, with over 200 petals. The costumes worn by Radha and Krishna signify their spiritual importance and Lladro artists have recreated them in minute detail. From the jewelry, etched by hand and decorated with golden and copper luster, to the embroidery of the fabrics or the decoration applied by hand combining deep rich colors like orange and blue. Radha Krishna on a Swing is a creation that seems to float in the air, suspended over a wood base. In this way, the divine couple rocks back and forth forever on their legendary swing, conveying to the world their divine love.
