I am pleases with the size and functions of the grinder. The star I took off from the review is that the motor is on the louder end. There is something romantic about using this manual coffee grinder, over using an electric one. It is a burr grinder, which is superior to one that uses a blade. It adds to a morning coffee ritual and gives you a little exercise. Unlike an electric unit, it does not generate heat from the motor. It is not inexpensive, but no quality grinder is cheep. We use a flat-bottom brew basket to achieve this volume, and we recommend always brewing the full amount to achieve the best results. Our double-walled, stainless steel thermal carafe will keep coffee hot for up to an hour - or even longer with the included travel lid.

We have had it for only a few days and do not have any complaints but have a question. The instructions say not to use ROor distilled water. The city water here in College Station TX has a high sodium content consequently makes terrible coffee. We use RO water from a local supplier. We had the smaller unit and used this water. When we moved from GG(treated river water) we have been using the RO for about three years with no ill effects.
