This contemporary rug gushes with sheer energy which is simply irresistible. Its uncomplicated yet vibrant design is reminiscent of Scandinavian rug art but, as a matter of fact, a zigzag motif had been known to weaving artisans long before the first carpets were made in the far North. Nomadic tribes, roaming vast desert dunes or steppe plains, were constantly in search of water which in these climatic conditions is an extremely scarce resource. Zigzag constituted one of the symbolic representations of water and thus was frequently included in rug design, usually on the borders but also as the main pattern. Here, we are presented with a quite bold, all-over zigzag application which sends a truly invigorating vibe. To avoid excess, the color palette is kept in solely two hues – off-white and dark brown. This perfectly balanced composition is masterly hand-executed of the finest wool in old and refined weaving techniques. Such thorough making ensures that the rug will be durable and ready to serve its owners for generations. The rug, with its geometric pattern, will perfectly match a wide variety of contemporary interior decors, including Scandinavian, minimalistic or bohemian-inspired.
