Circa 1900. Sivas in eastern Anatolia is best known for interpretations in light tones of Persian, especially Tabriz, designs. The pile is usually low and the weaves are medium-fine. They are decorative in the best sense but are quite hard to find. The rug is in good condition with a low pile that makes the patina so special in antique and vintage rugs.

This 2x11 Antique Isparta runner rug is a very special piece from this provenance and Antique collection—hand-knotted in wool and hailing from Turkey, circa 1920-1930.
