Asia Minor Carpets
This overdyed vintage carpet is produced by at least 20-50 years of age. Each carpet is carefully selected and undergoes a unique process of color neutralization before being over-dyed in an exciting new color. The result is a mix of traditional Turkish carpet designs fused with a contemporary retro style. A colored vintage carpet may lose some of its initial color characteristics and become even more unique in its look over time.
Solo Rugs
With an amalgam of sizes and aesthetic influences ranging from art deco to Rorschach and modernist, the rug defies definition, asking instead to become intriguing focal points of a room. It is at once a statement piece and testament to the craftsmanship of the artisans who made them.
With understated palettes and all-over designs, these rugs in the Mogul collection will bring timeless sophistication to any room. Influenced by a spectrum of Turkish, Indian, and Persian designs, our artisans who hand-knotted these wool rugs imbue craftsmanship and enduring traditions into every piece.
Rug & Kilim
Made with hand-knotted wool and originating circa 1960-1970, this 7x9 vintage rug is an exciting new piece in Rug & Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection—a rare curation believed to hail from mid-century Turkish artist and icon Zeki Müren. On The Design:A particularly delicious chartreuse green tone underscores a borderless repeat of all over floral patterns, with hints of beige, teal, and black accents throughout. Admirers of the craft will appreciate this playful interpretation of traditional elements—such as a subtle influence from European trellises broken down into this more minimalist piece—that speaks to Müren as an eclectic designer and marks his rugs distinct in his period. It’s a light and playful piece with the whimsy of a Müren rug, but also with the comfortable and livable undertone that his works also embody, so thoughtful in their approach to the postmodernist appeal of the time and collectible in his suspected works curated today.Condition: This mid-century rug enjoys good condition for its age and origin. Its pile height has been lowered to preserve its construction, which lends it the distressed look of wear and boho chic in the nap—a low pile height well-suited to swinging and sliding doors, among many clearance-conscious design applications.
