Glorious Silk And Metallic Silver Antique Turkish Seljuk Design Rug, circa Date: Mid 19th Century. The Seljuks are regarded as the ancestors of the people of modern Turkey and Azerbaijan. Their antique rugs have a distinctive style and motifs that are the forerunners of tribal Anatolian carpets. This magnificent, rare and collectible carpet with silk and metallic threads is an excellent example of Seljuk work. The carpet dates to the mid-19th century and is an exquisite piece of which few examples survive today.

This dazzling antique Silk Uzbek is a marvelous example of this decorative, wildly popular dyeing and weaving technique, which is enjoying a modern resurgence. Using carefully dyed threads, weavers created a spectacular silk textile with a large-scale Tree of Life design that emphasizes the beautiful visual effects of this Uzbek handcraft. The superb composition has well-developed features and formal borders that display vertical stripes and marbled zigzag accents. Within the central compartment, vibrant adzuki reds and celadon greens bring the symbolic, slow-growing cypress to life while secondary accents function as fertile ground and form an arching mihrab-like niche. The feathered ikat outlines and muted tones have an ethereal watercolor effect produced by the penetration of dyes and distribution of color that occurs as the pre-dyed threads are skillfully woven together.
An eloquent oversized Shakti weave rug in grey. This rug was originally produced for a custom project and although it was not used for its intended project it is a beautiful rug in perfect condition. Assumed Arabesque Verdigris w/Change was hand-knotted in Nepal using our Shakti weave which has an average pile height of 0.28 inches and a soft, luxurious finish. The pattern features a modern, floral motif that shimmers off the confines of the carpet in elegant silk and our finest wool. Assumed Arabesque Verdigris w/Change has a gorgeous grey field overlaid with mint green and golden beige. The design is asymmetrical and unexpected, a brilliant carpet for the right elegant space. Assumed Arabesque Verdigris w/Change has a high silk content of around 30% used in the accents giving this carpet a shimmering touch.
