Made with hand-knotted wool and silk, this 8x10 rug is an exciting new addition to Rug & Kilim's Scandinavian rug collection—a contemporary reimagining of Swedish Minimalism and vintage rugs and textiles of Rollakan and Rya traditions. On the design: The composition presents a refined chevron motif executed in sage green and varied bright, neutral tones, where hand-selected natural yarns create subtle abrash effects throughout. Admirers of the craft will particularly appreciate this rug’s look of depth and dimensionality—achieved both in the movement of the colorway and a subtle high-and-low pile married to the geometry. Each of these elements are meant to honor an iconic design movement, per the soul and intention of this collection—a contribution to that movement, which forever changed minimalism, Art Deco, and mid-century modern rug design in its reach.Custom Capable All sizes and colors available—inquire for a quote.

This enchanting vintage Swedish rug comes from the middle of the 20th century. During this time Scandinavian design experienced its heyday and this lovely flat-weave embodies the greatest features of this exceptional style which include simplicity, pastel color palette, and utter functionality. Its double-sided field carries an orderly allover pattern of hexagons containing various geometric figures within, such as diamonds, squares, triangles, and even other hexagons. The opposite shorter sides of the vintage carpetbag are nicely finished with a striped hem. This wide array of polygons is executed in a subdued color palette of ivory and teal against the background in a natural hemp shade. The rug was masterfully hand-crafted of the finest wool according to traditional weaving techniques by a skilled artisan which it has survived until this day in absolutely perfect condition. It is reversible, which means that it can be used on both sides which further prolongs its durability. This pleasant-to-the-eye Swedish antique rug will easily fit into present-day interiors as it is characterized by timeless elegance and heartwarming appeal. It is a perfect option not only for the admirers of Scandinavian aesthetics but for all who cherish the power of minimalism.
