The Castiglioni brothers often created designs that challenged our perspective, and the Taccia, which gives the illusion of an upside-down hanging lamp, is an inspiring example of that. Designed by the famed duo in 1962, the Taccia has a concave spun-aluminum reflector with a matte white finish. Its light can be adjusted by positioning the blown glass diffuser as necessary. This designer table lamp’s base is made of extruded aluminum and is available in an anodized matte black or natural sandblasted finish. The Taccia emits reflected light. The inspiration behind the design: Their industrial backgrounds are evident in this design, a shining example of the way Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni applied a minimalist approach to refurbishing everyday objects.

In the Alba table lamp version, the drop rests delicately on a satin brass rectangular-section profile in the shape of a double asymmetrical ‘L’, serving as the base and ornamentation of the light.
Designed in 1977 by Vico Magistretti, over the years, Atollo has become the archetype of the table lamp, winning the Compasso d’Oro in 1979 and completely revolutionizing the way we imagine the classic bedside lamp. The geometric shapes that compose it – cylinder, cone, and hemisphere – have resulted in a product that is decorative and essential at the same time, disconnected from the historical period and the fashions of the moment, and one that has now fully become one of the icons of Italian design.

The fixture emits a soft, comfortable, glare-free, light. The metal-shade versions direct the light directly downward, creating a pleasant illumination due to the inner white-painted shade and the reflection from the trumpet-shaped stem. The opal acrylic produces a diffused, comfortable light due to the translucent shade, the downward reflection from the inner shade, and the reflection from the trumpet-shaped stem.

Lighting as an objet d’art comes full circle with the Etna Arched Lamp. It’s quite the balancing act, with a diamond-etched brass shade suspended from a sleek demilune rod that’s poised on a creamy marble base. The sculpted lamp has the effect of elevating a desk or console.
