Hammertone techniques have been a cornerstone in jewelry and metal crafting for millennia, and each mark bears a silent testament to the skill of the craftsman. The collection of fine porcelain strives to capture the random and organic feeling of this age-old process. The porcelain is also designed to integrate perfectly with any of Michael's other dinnerware patterns. The unified body shapes used in all of the motifs make mixing and matching the patterns a seamless proposition. "I have always been mesmerized by the craft of hand forging and how a cold hard piece of metal can be transformed in shape. It is romantic and almost magical to me how quick gestures and seemingly random strikes of a hammer become frozen in time, creating a texture that is both spontaneous and ageless."
The palace collection explores, through Michael's eyes, the richness of detail and ornament in palaces throughout the world. As a part-time resident of India since 1989, palace architecture has been a steady source of inspiration and this collection pays tribute to the geometry and complexity of Moghul's design. The classically elegant shapes and materials in this collection reflect the arches, finials, carved panels, and ornamentation prevalent in palaces throughout the East. "I wanted to capture the balance between palace and country life in this collection. The delicate, winding cast ivy wraps around faux-bois etched metal elements, offering a romanticized interpretation of a simple life on the farm."

Mara Dolinskaia was a ballerina at the Mariinsky Opera and Ballet Theatre, in St. Petersburg. She is also designer Katya Bosky’s grandmother and was the inspiration for this set, which pays homage to the classical ballet stars from the 1920s. In a continuous movement full of life, color, and creativity, the designer portrays scenic elements and the wardrobe of that time.

Everything becomes gold: Midas. The playful, baroque Rosenthal shape Sanssouci forms the stage for the Midas decor, which is monochromatic in gold. Patterns with distinctive twigs and leaves are laid on top of each other in layers, shimmering between matt and glossy surfaces and creating an extremely sensual interplay when they meet the porcelain relief. The three-dimensional camouflage decor is named after the mythological king Midas, whom Dionysus had fulfilled a wish: everything he touched turned to gold.
The Michael Aram Pomegranate collection takes its inspiration from one of the most universal and ancient symbols in the world. The fruit has been prized across the globe, across cultures, and across time as a representation of life, rebirth, and renewal as well as fertility and union. I grew up around pomegranates - from their use as natural dyes on the antique rugs I used to crawl on as a baby to an integral ingredient in the food that I love. When I'm at my home in New Delhi, I wake each morning to the taste of fresh-squeezed pomegranate juice. The color, the smell, and the delicate flavor all make it feel like a magical elixir to me.
I loved my small cute plates. They are perfect for appetizer!. Anonymous. . 2023-03-27 17:17:37
TAC 02 was created from Walter Gropius' unedited original designs. Purist design, based on simple geometric shapes, lends "TAC" a timeless poetry. Delicate ornamentation and stark black and white contrasts on the finest, slightly translucent porcelain emphasize the outstanding design features of this icon of Bauhaus design. TAC 02 offers a dinnerware, stemware, and tea service collection. The TAC collection, which was created in 1969 and named after Gropius’ Boston office 'The Architects Collaborative’, is one of the most successful porcelain series in the world. Its minimalist design, the use of simple hemispheres for both pot and cups and the playfulness of triangle and square shapes all remain true to Bauhaus tradition.

This China offers a hand-painted design with colors that are carefully applied to the porcelain with fine brushes in many shadings and fired several times at high temperatures.
The Butterfly Ginkgo collection celebrates the representation of flora as fauna. Michael's fascination with a particular type of ginkgo tree, the Ginkgo Biloba, or "Butterfly Ginkgo", which grows with a double leaf reminiscent of a butterfly's wings, gave rise to a fantasia image of the plant. Executed at the highest level of hand craftsmanship, each piece is rendered in solid brass with hand-etched cocoon-shaped vessels. The pieces in the collection are a tour de force of the handcrafted process, capturing the poetic spirit that is so deeply indicative of Michael's work. The first time I saw this tree, it looked like it had been completely overtaken by butterflies... as if they would all take flight the moment I walked too close or made a noise. The idea that the leaves could evoke the beauty of butterflies was magical to me, like trees that can metamorphose from flora to fauna in the blink of an eye.
Lovely! I have it out on the patio table and drop rose petals into it in the morning when I prune the roses. Butterflies and rose petals. It doesn't get better than that.. Terrie. Vancouver, WA. 2024-07-05 18:08:13
