Love the look and the quality of workmanship. In fact I ordered a second pair for a family Christmas gift. But I have two problems : first, there are no obvious markings on the boxes to distinguish the salt mill ( with ceramic grinder) from the pepper mill ( stainless grinder). Second, I could not figure out how to open and load the grinders. It appears that a Phillips screwdriver may be required to open. Conventional salt & pepper mills often create mess by leaving excess grounds on surfaces when placed down. The innovative design also does away with a long central spindle for the grinding mechanism, which increases its capacity and makes it much easier to fill. To use, simply invert the mill and twist the base to grind.

A bit larger than I thought, but still stunning. The shape is innovative, so this is perfect for the BOLD. It's funny how I could not tell the difference (at first) between the salt and pepper, but I love subtlety, and the sophisticated shape is seen first, and the thin black or white stripe (on the "neck") are perfect secondary indicators.
