With an oriental feel, this original design by Kit Kemp is based upon a collection of embroidered fabrics produced by Chelsea Textiles. Kit Kemp is best known as the co-owner and Design Director for Firmdale Hotels, famous for her eclectic and colorful designs. The kit is often influenced by a sense of the whimsical and the lyrical as well as her love of animals. This Mythical Creatures collection features creatures great and small, borne solely from her imagination. The illustrative style of the range is applied to the silky white fine bone china and decorated with intricate gold decorations around the rim of each of the durable pieces.

This collection is the result of a collaboration between Bordallo Pinheiro and the Brazilian NGO Eco arts Amazônia in the preservation of an environmental, cultural, social, and scientific heritage crucial to mankind's future. Each piece was inspired by the very rich local flora and was only possible thanks to intense knowledge sharing with those who live their daily lives in this vibrant mosaic of ecosystems, traditions, colors, sounds, and smells that is the Amazon rainforest. Part of the collection's proceeds will go to the reforestation of the Amazon area of Mato Grosso, by planting indigenous fruit trees in cities, rural areas, and indigenous villages of the region where Eco arts Amazônia operates.
