No, it won't answer to the adorable pet name you give it or have witty replies to your inane requests (don't worry Alexa, you have job security) but it will fill your room with functional light and deliver it via a thoughtfully proportioned powder-coated steel design. The lamp is great except we ordered a touch lamp and received a floor dimmer lamp. We were told they will call us to confirm what they have available! Instead they send us a dimmer lamp without calling. Since they decided the sale was more important than customer service, i reduced my rating… if they had call as promised it would have been my decision to order the dimmer lamp not their decision..
