House of Hackney
Reminiscent of the lush color and luminous cheerfulness found in Gustav Klimt’s paintings of flower gardens, Hollyhocks was created especially for House of Hackney by American artist Kerry Simmons, based on her work of the same name. Repainted in a rich colorway, the print captures all the pastoral purity and romance of “cottage-core”, while our punk spirit is embedded in the print’s riot of flowers. Bring the magic of the forest into your home with Plantasia. Art imitates nature across Herbarium: Our reimagining of the exquisite floral mosaics by Mary Delany. The epitome of a late bloomer, the 18th-century English artist began crafting her series of 985 extraordinarily detailed collages at the age of 72. Now, in partnership with the British Museum, we've created our own paper garden, filled with Delany's buttercups, daisies, thistles, and foliage, then topped with our characterful additions of bugs and butterflies. Painted with watercolor wildflowers against a ground of color, the much-loved Artemis motif returns to its roots in nature. Inspired by our hero, the celebrated 19th-century designer William Morris (whose work, like ours, was often a stylized depiction of British wildness), this print also pays homage to iconic Vogue editor Diana Vreeland Garden in hell room, which too unfurled with psychedelic blooms.
