Phillips Collection
The Cast Naturals collection highlights our skills at taking an innovative material and making it feel as if it sprang from nature. The burled silver vase is made of composite that has been molded to look like a piece of burled wood that it took nature eons to create and then covered in a brilliant silver leaf. The advantage of having a decorative accessory made from this durable material is that it will long outlast its natural counterparts pulled from the forest floor. This piece is the perfect representation of the Phillips Collection ethos: modern organic. We offer the burled decorative vases in a number of finishes—from warm wood tones to bling-worthy gold, silver, and white.

The Sunken boat moss white tall vase is made by a group of elderly women who live at the border of Burma and Thailand. The black terracotta has a moss white glazing covering it and pits in the glazing, the result making the ivory vase feel as if it has been reclaimed from a Sunken boat after having spent years in the deep sea. All ruffles on these vases are done by hand in the pinch method, which is a painstaking process. We have three sizes of the Sunken boat vases in white and a number of shapes in green.

The Octopus vase is a decorative accessory handmade stoneware by women artisans living at the border of Burma and Thailand. The process they used to create it is challenging and time-consuming. First, the vase is thrown by one artisan; then another artist works by hand to apply the octopus to the profile of the cream vase before it is hand glazed and fired. The artful application and the dripping of the reactive blue glaze make each piece a one-of-kind object-dart with a strong French Mediterranean feel.
