This beautiful hand-polished petrified wood table is sourced from Redwood California, features a 2" thick piece of genuine petrified wood and stands 24" tall. It has an amazing pattern with vibrant hues of brown, yellow, and orange present throughout. This unique piece comes with a sturdy metal frame to support this heavy specimen. Fossilized Petrified Wood, which is also known as Agatized Wood, forms when a tree has died and silicon dioxide forms in place of the wood - that degrades until there is no wood left, only Quartz. All of the organic matter becomes replaced by minerals, while much of the original structure, such as tree rings, is retained. The rainbow of colors is produced by impurities in the quartz, such as iron, carbon, and manganese. Most petrified wood on earth can be from 50 to 500 million years old. This piece comes with a certificate of authenticity. Approx. Weight: 150 , Size: 30 x 18 x 24 inches
