This captivating collection, created in collaboration with The Met, draws on artworks and objects from across nine of The Met’s 17 curatorial departments to create a rich mosaic of historical narratives. Each design is a celebration of artisanship, inspired by exquisite forms and cultural traditions. Following our first collaboration with The Met in the 1970s, we bring museum magic into the home once again in homage to history and the grand beauty of art.

From his renowned walnut ink illustration Mydsommer Pickings is a direct translation of Giles`s botanical drawings depicting embroidered pomegranates and poppyheads on a linen ground. The pattern is repeated to create an all-over design and encompasses a plethora of stitching techniques layered to intensify the depth and luxury of this embroidered fabric. An apothecary of medieval delights appears in this curling tendril design which unfurls before your eyes. Referencing historic hand embroidery the linen base enhances the lavish stitching which is free-flowing and organic yet dramatic in equal measure and loosely based on drawings of Chelsea Physic Garden.
Our fabric beautifully interprets the storyline of Disney`s 101 Dalmatians film. A time-honored favourite with a playful vintage feel the design combines elements from archival Sanderson documents alongside scenes from the original movie. With a hand-block look and lovely spacing, it`s a celebration of all things Dalmatian.
