This pair of 20th-century antique armchairs are adorned with an elaborate carving on the back splat and around the chairs and protruding crest rail. The restoration is intentionally kept to the minimum. All original red finish is untouched. The high yoke back armchair was also commonly called "Official Hat Chair" because of its resemblance to the wing-like brimmed government official hat. With ornate carving, this pair will be outstanding accent chairs in a living room, dining room, or hallway.
