Bokara Rug Co., Inc.
Specific aspects of colors and designs have been incorporated in this high-quality collection of Timeless classic Oriental designs, hand-knotted in India. The wool used, is a mixture of Mongolian and New Zealand wool. These lustrous wools come from sheep's wool with a high content of lanolin. This improves the resiliency and therefore the quality of the carpet. The knotting system used is the Oriental Senneh knot. This collection has a high knot count of 190-200 knots per square inch. The results are a sharpness of design seen in the intricate patterns, combined with an overall look of quality.
This Collection is based on antique Oriental rug designs but uses a contemporary color palette. The main characteristic of these rugs is the noticeable abrash (color change), a new technique of weaving between two color hues, which imparts an antique look. Hand-knotted in China with a very high knot count and using only the finest wools, the result is the character of an heirloom rug with the resilience of a new one. With a very high knot count of approximately 240 knots per square inch, and using only the finest wools from New Zealand & Mongolia, the result is the character of an heirloom rug with the resilience of a new one.
