Artist Commentary: Many in my family were farmers. After putting in a season of blood, sweat, tears, and money the expectation is for a good crop coming in. That isn't always the result. The onslaught of nature can be a cruel or helpful partner in developing the harvest. After the harvest is finished, the field gets plowed under preparing for the next season., and the cycle continues. The plowed under field presents a sense of unmitigated finality.
Artist Commentary: EARLY SPRING is when cracks start show in the ice. The snow starts to melt, and things start to thaw. Ife has come again. Some Spring colors will start showing through. Often, however, it is still very cold, and Winter may make another return appearance. As a young child in Nebraska, I would find my self whispering "finally it is here".
Artist Commentary: Iconic 50's chopped and shaved MERCURY with tuck and roll and baby moons. This is part of the Chassis series. The imagination is geared up for hands-on work under the body. All of these cars are dreams, but some are the greatest ever. In the shop with a wrench and rag is the image I see, hear, and smell. You have to close your eyes and let your mind drift away down the highway.
